WARWICK CO-SPONSORS MICHAEL J. FOX KEYNOTE AT ASI SAN DIEGO
This is the company’s first educational sponsorship at a major industry show.
SAINT CHARLES, ILLINOIS (March 14, 2012) – To show its support for industry education, Warwick Publishing Company is the co-sponsor of the ASI San Diego keynote featuring author and activist Michael J. Fox. The event will be held on Wednesday, April 4 from 8:15 – 9:15 am.
In his presentation “Always Looking Up: The Adventures of an Incurable Optimist,” Fox will share the remarkable life lessons he has learned from his struggle with Parkinson’s disease—and the hard-won perspective that has helped him to see challenges as opportunities. Fox won his way into America’s heart with his early roles such as Alex P. Keaton on Family Ties and Marty McFly in the Back To The Future trilogy. But it was after he announced in 1998 he had been battling young-onset Parkinson’s disease for seven years that he became even more endearing. While he continues to write and act (he can currently be seen in a recurring role on CBS’s Emmy-winning drama The Good Wife), his focus has shifted toward The Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson’s Research, which he launched in 2000.
While Warwick has sponsored several local tradeshows and golf outings through Promotional Products Association Chicago (PPAChicago), this is the company’s first foray into an industry-wide educational event sponsorship.
“I was unable to see Mr. Fox speak at the 2011 Orlando ASI Show, and I regretted it after hearing about how great the presentation was from other show attendees,” said Phil Martin, MAS, Warwick Publishing’s national sales manager. “I personally have been a huge fan of his for many years, going all the way back to the Alex Keaton days. I also admire how he is handling his battle with Parkinson’s. We all face numerous challenges in business and in life, and I think there’s something to learn something from his experiences. We at Warwick feel privileged to be a part of bringing him back to speak to the industry a second time.”
