HPC GLOBAL HIRES MICHAEL KOGUTT
HANOVER, PENNSYLVANIA (January 15, 2013) – HPC Global has hired 28-year industry veteran Michael A. Kogutt, MAS, MASI, as vice president of sales. In this position, Kogutt is tasked with growing sales and, more importantly, quality relationships with distributors. His responsibilities include the creation of specific policies, programs, sales tools and sample offerings for distributors. Additionally, he is developing and managing a multi-line representative sales force, attending industry tradeshows and assisting in new product development and selection. He also oversees production of the catalog, sales collateral and marketing materials.
Kogutt began his industry career with Dart Business Accessories, where he held a number of positions during his 24-year tenure, including vice president of sales and co-owner. After Dart was acquired, he spent one year as the vice president of sales for Senator Promotional Group USA/Dart Business Accessories. Subsequently, he has held the vice president of sales position at Houston, Texas-based Landes Inc. as well as Fairfield, New Jersey-based Points of Light.
An active volunteer, Kogutt has served as a member of the PPAI Education Committee and PPAI Membership Services Committee, fulfilling two-year terms for each. Additionally, he spent six years on the board of the CAS/MAS Alumni Association, serving in all board positions including president.
“Michael started in the promotional product field with a small, family-owned business that he helped grow to become a well-known and highly respected industry supplier,” said Robert Houghland, president and CEO. In the next six to 12 months, we hope to significantly increase sales by utilizing Michael’s talents and by offering an expanded line of USA-made health and beauty products as well as USA-made writing instruments. With Michael’s help throughout the next 5 to 10 years, we expect consistent growth and to continue building our image as a highly dependable supplier of top-quality products with exceptional customer service.”
Kogutt says he was attracted to HPC because of the opportunity to sell a product line with a selection of USA-made products. Plus, he enjoys working in a family business environment and helping promote company growth. “The team at HPC is open to all kinds of new ideas that move the business forward, and it’s exciting to be in a position where I have the opportunity to provide input into all aspects of the company,” he said. “Beyond sales, I am contributing in a number of ways, including new product development, marketing and strategic planning as well. I feel with the combination of the management team and the company’s unique capabilities, there is truly unlimited potential for growth.”

About HPC Global:
HPC Global (formerly Hanover Pen Corporation) manufacturers a complete line of promotional products including USA-made and imported writing instruments as well as business, desk and tech accessories. Additionally, HPC offers a highly effective USA-made hand sanitizercollection, a selection of other health and beauty items, and Utz® brand food gift items.
Based in Hanover, Pennsylvania, the company’s heritage dates back to 1913 when it began business as the Hanover Centershaft Company, which was founded by Ralph Hoke. The principal product at that time was the “wooden penholder.” This general writing instrument of the day was used along with the felt paper blotter—both of which were widely used with advertising imprints. Much has changed in the last century, as today the company’s USA-made pens are assembled and printed more than 50,000 units per eight-hour shift.
A long-time industry supporter, HPC is a charter member of Specialty Advertising Association (SAA), the predecessor of Promotional Products Association International (PPAI), as well as the Writing Instruments Manufacturers Association Inc. (WIMA).
