VISSTUN EXPANDS WITH NEW WAREHOUSE
Nearly 20,000 square feet have been added to meet storage and recycling needs as well as accommodate future growth.
LAS VEGAS, NEVADA (July 17, 2009) – Visstun has expanded its facility with the opening of a new 19,800-square-foot warehouse located across the street from its Las Vegas headquarters building. With more than 95,000 square feet in the main production facilities including 35,000 square feet in Utah, the company now has more than 115,000 total square feet.
The space will be used to store raw materials as well as house the company’s sample department and recycling operations. Previously, Visstun used an offsite contract warehouse for storage. But since the company stocks enough raw materials to produce 500,000 cups of each size and type, it is advantageous to have the materials much closer for inventory management purposes. Plus, having blank stock onsite gives the company even greater ability to respond quickly to large quantity orders.
Visstun also needed more square footage to establish its plastic recycling operation. “Having this additional space allows us to be more efficient with our recycling efforts,” said Ed Hamilton, Visstun president. “We recycle 100 percent of the waste and scrap generated during manufacturing by grinding it down to a particle size that can be reused by other molding and forming operations.”
Hamilton notes the new warehouse also gives the company more room to grow. “Since we are planning to purchase additional cup forming machines, we need the room to allow the expansion in our main plant,” he says.
Founded in 2007, Visstunlaunched the world’s first high-definition convolute cups. This unique, state-of-the-art technology eclipses traditional cup imprinting methods by first printing high-quality corporate images on flat polypropylene sheets and then forming them into cups on custom engineered machinery.
The result is a line of visually stunning plastic and paper cups that has been honored nine times, including the 2009 Counselor Product Design Award for Drinkware and the 2009 Silver PPAI Supplier Achievement Award in the Supplier Self Promotion category.
Visstun, along with its sister companies DIGISPEC, CounterPoint and AwesomeEye, is part of the family of companies founded by Ed Hamilton. While each division operates independently, all four are headquartered in Las Vegas, Nevada.
